Jess' style of teaching is so gorgeously soft in tone and rewarding in movement. Since practicing with Jess, I've improved in both strength and flexibility while simultaneously gaining patience and tolerance with myself. Her classes have brought me hope and joy over lockdown, they really are a little slice of bliss!
A little about Jess...
Yoga first came as a practice as a form of exercise. Hooked on the strong and sweaty practice, Jess soon discovered the huge benefits for physically and mentally. Using breath to cultivate space within both body and mind, to get lost in the rhythm of our movement, to tune inwards, towards our home within ourselves, exploring our layers so much deeper than the physical.
Jess invites you to slow down, allow yourself to play around with new shapes, challenge yourself whilst we balance, smile when we wobble but mainly, not rushing to get anywhere, lose yourself in the feeling of the postures and most importantly the transitions between them. Listening to and trusting your body. Let go of the judgment, the expectation and the pressure.
All combined with the reminder that our practice of yoga isn’t solely the asanas. We allow time to step on our mats to create space and growth from within, to then take it off the mat. Finding a way for you to be the best version of yourself every day.
As a newcomer to Yoga I was afraid that the classes would be too advanced or that I would be completely out of place. Jess' classes have a flow to them that a beginner can achieve and keep up with. The classes are challenging for me but I still leave feeling incredibly relaxed. The best way to describe it is the way I feel after a really great massage. I feel energised, recharged, calm and focused.
Jess’ classes are so well explained in a totally relatable way. She has a lovely welcoming manner and her teaching approach is inclusive and compassionate towards her students.
Jess’ Yin sessions are always a highlight of my week. I often turn up at the mat preoccupied but always leave feeling more balanced and relaxed. Accompanied by a calming music soundtrack, Jess provides easy to follow instructions and explanations which makes for a great virtual yin practice.
From Power to Yang-Yin, Jess will guide you. I have learnt so much from her in only a year. She is gentle and strong, encouraging and reassuring, all at the same time. 'Practice makes perfect' and every class is perfect from beginning to end.
I sometimes close my eyes and just let her perfect cuing guide me, forgetting about everything but breathing and moving in rhythm. She simply is the best possible guide for my practice of yoga, after a class i always feel fulfilled both physically and spiritually.
